Massage Therapy of Boston is mostly known for its therapeutic bodywork focused on helping people experiencing symptoms of tension, pain, or who are recovering from an injury. But did you know that Massage Therapy of Boston also offers infant massage classes?
In addition to being a Licensed Massage Therapist, Sarah Tufano is also a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM). Sarah holds classes either out of her Boston office or out of your home and works with parents and caregivers and their babies ages 3 weeks to 9 months. Expectant parents are welcome too! In Sarah’s classes, you will learn easy-to-do massage strokes to incorporate into your routine with your baby. You will learn strokes to help with gas, constipation, teething, and general baby discomforts. Sarah will demonstrate all the strokes on a baby doll, ensuring that you have exclusive contact with your baby and all the opportunity to bond.
Studies have shown that, among many other benefits, infant massage helps soothe common baby discomforts such as gas and constipation, helps promote a regular sleep-wake cycle, facilitates physiological and neurological development, and strengthens the baby-caregiver bond. Sarah’s classes are a lot of fun and a great way for caregivers to meet and bounce questions off each other. Sarah incorporates song, games, and discussion into every class so time flies as you’re bonding with your baby! You can click on “Infant Massage” on Sarah’s website to learn more about her classes and to watch a video featuring Sarah’s Infant Massage Instructor and Mentor, who discusses the benefits of infant massage and demonstrates some of the strokes.
