Maura Driscoll Maura Driscoll

Sarah Tufano, Boston massage therapist, MA massage Sarah Tufano is the founder and sole owner of Massage Therapy of Boston. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and later went on to study massage in California.  She is a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and has over 700 hours of training from the National Holistic Institute in California where she also gained the title Health Educator. Sarah has had extensive experience working in the medical massage field and has also supported chiropractors. Her detailed knowledge of anatomy and understanding of the way the body works helps Sarah craft a session that is tailored to the individual needs of each client.

What led Sarah to massage was a desire to help provide relief for those dealing with chronic pain. She spent two years working in an office environment where she became acutely aware of repetitive strain injuries and chronic holding patterns associated with computer use. Sarah strives to help alleviate symptoms of chronic pain and to help restore the sense of balance within the body.  Sarah is also an athlete and understands the wear and tear associated with pushing the body to its limits.  She played Division III basketball in college and has always been a runner.  She still enjoys running, playing basketball, and also hikes and does yoga regularly.

In addition to being a Certified Massage Therapist and Health Educator, Sarah is a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) by the International Association of Infant Massage headquartered in Sweden. Sarah believes strongly that children should be given love every step of the way so they have strong foundations to succeed and be happy in the world. As a CEIM, Sarah works with caregivers to teach them how to massage their babies and to bond with them through touch.

Sarah is originally from Connecticut. She relocated to the Boston area a number of years ago after having lived in California for 4 years.

Adam Parrett, Boston massage therapist, MA massageAdam Parrett comes to Massage Therapy of Boston with over 10 years’ experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist. He is a 1998 graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, an intensive certification program of over 700 hours. Adam’s training has been in a multitude of modalities, including Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Structural Integration, Lymphatic Drainage, and Medical Side-Lying. Since his graduation in 1998, Adam has expanded his understanding of the body in an impressive field of practice.

During his four years as lead Massage Therapist for the New England Revolution, Adam assisted the Athletic Trainer in all aspects of injury treatment and learned the most effective techniques in Sports Massage first hand. Adam furthered his experience working with injuries when he worked in an out-patient physical therapy clinic, where he saw a wide variety of injuries and soft tissue dysfunction and drew on his experience to assist in healing and recovery.

Adam’s experience does not rest solely in working with athletes. He has also worked in settings that have exposed him to repetitive stress injuries associated with computer use and work-related stress, such as carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome, and neck and shoulder tension. He understands the toll repetitive actions can take on the body and works with you to address muscular imbalances and postural dysfunctions.

Whether he is working with the athlete, computer-user, or anyone experiencing stress and tension, Adam is just as excited now about being a Massage Therapist as he was 12 years ago. He enjoys drawing from all his experiences to address each client’s individual needs and to develop a personalized treatment plan to bring about relief as quickly as possible.

A native of Melrose, Massachusetts, Adam enjoys playing basketball and indoor and outdoor soccer. He and his wife recently welcomed their first child into the world and Adam is also enjoying the world of fatherhood
