We are thrilled to welcome Vanessa Nemergut, LMT to our Massage Therapy of Boston team!  She will be up on our Therapists page later this week.  In the meantime, please check out her bio here:

Vanessa graduated from the Muscular Therapy Institute in 2008 and has been pursuing an active career in bodywork since the day she stepped out of school. With training in Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Therapy, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage and Neuromuscular work from some of the best teachers in the New England Area, she seeks to help people strengthen the mind-body connection and facilitate healing through bodywork.

Vanessa developed an interest in massage therapy when she was just five years old, helping to alleviate her mother’s chronic neck pain and arthritis.  Her interest continued during her time as an undergrad at Brandeis University where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Comparative Literature and then piqued in her early 20’s when she received her first pamphlet from the Massage Therapy Institute.

For six years, she has tailored her work to focus on injury repair and prevention, both for athletes and those suffering from repetitive strain injuries from everything ranging from desk jobs to full time mothering.  She has a passion for relieving neck, jaw and shoulder pain, with a patient and practiced approach that goes down to the bone without re-traumatizing soft tissue.

When not working, Vanessa is avidly reading, writing, doodling, practicing yoga or aerial circus arts and has her sights set on a yoga teacher training in the winter.

A Massachusetts resident for going on 15 years, Vanessa grew up in Southern California, and while she misses the beautiful beaches, nothing seems to be able to draw her away from the East Coast.
